The Moose Picnic

... the number #1 location for moose-picnic-related-news

13 September, 2006

Where it all started...

The moose picnic began in 2003 as a fundraising outlet for the Royal Melbourne Moose Protection Society.

However, when it was revealed later that there were in fact no mooses naturally exsisting in Australia, nor Melbourne. The organization decided instead to run the picnic as a self-funding excercise ... despite their 'non-profit' status. Luckily for the organisers, the picnic has never actually raised any money so they have saved themselves from prosecution from the Australian Taxation Office.

The picnic takes place every year in the same location, and is attended by Melbourne's elite ... and in the past few years has boasted a record attendance of 15.

The following year's Moose Picnic will not be "inaugural", as the first three have been, as we now know what that word means.

It will be, as always, a day of fun and games and ridiculous amounts of food. It is asked that all guests bring a plate/tupperware container/packet/bag/whatever of some form of edible substance. Preferably something that we will want to eat.
