moose picnic activities...

It is traditional for the Moose Picnic to include various fun activities and games to work off none of the enormous amount of food we eat. (I say none, as most of the activities we plan involve little more than standing and strolling about for a bit).

although activites vary from year to year, here is a listing of the various ones that have been conducted over the past few picnics, please check with the organisers prior to the event for the latest upadates

We should also point out that there will be NO easter egg hunt anymore. We don't know how the first one happened, it's FEBRUARY.

Activities and games will include:

Egg and Spoon Tournament*
Please supply your own egg... and if you're unsure of what an "Egg and Spoon Tournament" involves, check out ...
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Egg_and_spoon_race
(we thought the concept was rather self explainitory, but apparently people were confused)

Badminton*
Amy has acquired a four-player badminton set and is hoping that it will not go the way of the croquet set and become a two-player set. Prizes will be awarded for the pair with the most stylish badminton. (This competition will be rigged.)

Treasure Hunt/Orienteering*
Discussions of treasure hunt/orienteering ideas quickly led to a lot of jumping about and shouting ideas at the organisers meeting, and it will be some time before we decide what form this event will take. There will be prizes though... perhaps... (Rigged, once again, of course.)

Bocce/Lawn Bowls*
Bowls is the classiest sport there is. If you have bowls, please bring them. If you don't, rental cost can be negotiated on the day... Or we can just lend them to you free, since we're so generous

Pinata
Moose-shaped, but still to be confirmed for this year

Croquet*
As usual, there will be croquet. Once again, there will only be half a croquet set involved, (many thanks to Arse Man). Prizes for the smallest number of hits to get through the "course". Cheating encouraged.

Hat Parade*
A hat parade will be held to determine who has the best hat and best catwalk strutting style. You should know that Amy has extensive experience in hat modelling through her work at the museum so she's got it in the bag baby.

Eating
This event should take up most of the day, and may take the place of any number of other activities (ie, if we get too comfortable eating and lying around. then no one's going to bother to watch/judge/run any of these activities).

Siesta
Sometimes when you eat that much you need to sleep.
